Wheelchair Accessible Vehicles

Aug 10, 2022 | Achievements, Advocacy, CPV Inquiry

Let’s not forget, todays announcement by the Government for increasing the lifting fee to $26.80 for WAV services, was the direct result of my advocacy and negotiation with the Premier and Treasurer. This makes up a part of a package that we fought for and was successful in achieving.

We also accomplished the following:

– successfully argued for a significant increase of 10.2 % for all unbooked taxi fares

– removal of stamp duty for Wheelchair Accessible Vehicles for the Taxi Industry

These are only achieved because the industry has a representative in parliament.
